smiling:: at how good it is for him to spend some time with his brother.listening:: to the happy sounds of board games being played on the kitchen table.loving:: the relationships and memories being created between these cousins.walking:: with the kids this morning to visit the neighbor's beautiful horses and friendly dogs.drawing:: A little in-the-car sketching on our road trip here. I love to use photo references from an old Pictorial History of the World, published in 1894. A goldmine of images I scored for $20 at my local thrift store. Sometimes, I think I was born in the wrong century.enjoying:: the stack of books I'm working through on this trip. Lots of time for extra reading.making:: thought I'd bring along my baking gear. Fun to do something a little homey while we're visiting.seeing:: this is the view from the back deck off of Curt and Jessica's home. I could watch these clouds all day. (The thunder and lightening storms at night have been thrilling.) With all this expanse of sky and empty, flat land, it makes one feel a little exposed and vulnerable, especially being so used to the familiar security of the mountains that surround us back home. But this is a different kind of beauty. Bringing with it a peaceful stillness where you can feel and breathe and just be.
