:: Thursday was our day for celebrating. A time to have some fun and lighten things up after all these days of stress and worry. After I fixed us a big waffle breakfast, we went to see the new BFG movie (one of the kids' favorite books from their childhood. Isaac even convinced me to read it to help get me in the mood.), went up to American Fork canyon with some Subways for an impromtu picnic, explored and hiked around Cascade Springs, and then drove over the mountain down into Midway where we stopped at the good old Timp Freeze of my childhood for some fries (best in the world... thick and greasy... just the way I like 'em!) and icy treats. It truly was a perfectly happy day.
:: Keith and I went to a jazz concert Friday evening. The venue was small and intimate and held in a local botanical garden. Perfect. Not only loving every minute of that performance and music, but so fun watching (out of the corner of my eye) the older lady next to us get up and dance (like nobody's watching!) Wishing I had the guts to get up and do the same.
:: taking home a stack of "just right" library books.
:: watching a new season of The Great British Baking Show with Isaac.
:: picking berries with the kids at Eldon and Sharon's.
:: being invited by my dear friend to head out together for a little overnight get-a-way this week.
:: knowing that G & G landed in London today. For this Anglophile son's dream coming true.
:: baking and sharing a batch of mint-chocolate cupcakes yesterday.
:: knowing that a month from today, I'll be holding my missionary-boy in my arms once again!!!
:: having the time and the desire to do some drawing practice today. Glad that the process seems to be getting easier.
